welcome to meer berlin!

the idea behind meer berlin is to create a virtual place to which everyone may come at any time, maybe when curious, maybe when lonely, maybe when looking for inspiration, maybe when ... . this place is changing irregular and continuous, always trying to reflect a somewhat different perspective on the day-to-day life, trying to concentrate on the small observations and the things between the lines, sharing them with whoever is interested in finding out about them.
meer berlin offers different ways to be explored. one (time) is a simple timeline listing the latest entries in chronological order, so that it is easy to find out where meer berlin has grown since the last visit. the other is by one of the five topics (images, sounds, words, places and things) which are always pointing to the latest corresponding entry. from there it is possible to navigate deeper into the past or to look through the archives.
the name meer berlin was born from two thoughts. first - there is no 'meer' (german for sea) anywhere near berlin but it would be nice if it would be the case, so the combination of the two words creates a lovely surreal image. second - in german the pronunciation of the word 'meer' (sea) and the word 'mehr' (more) is exactly the same, resulting in a nice double meaning for the spoken words.
